A Message from Randy LaJoie

As a racer, I am sure you know someone that has either been killed or seriously injured because of unsafe equipment. Safety innovations in equipment clcik to enlargeand car construction have come a long way in recent years, but that knowledge has not sufficiently reached the regional and “grass-roots” racers.

I believe it is time that those of us that, by the Grace of God, survived severe injury try and help our fellow racers at short tracks, road courses, and drag-strips all around the country.  These are racers like you (men, women, and youth) that generally race out of their own pockets. Their resources may be limited, but their passion for racing is not. After conducting various safety seminars for the past two years at tracks around the country, I have discovered that ignorance, and not money, is the major reason “grass-roots” racers are running in unsafe equipment.

With this in mind, I have formed “Safer Racer Tour, Inc.”,  a 501 (C)(3) non-profit corporation, organized to develop, promote, and conduct safety seminars and inspections at racing venues around the country in order to help reduce the number of serious injuries and fatalities from racing accidents.  Working with sanctioning bodies, track promoters, and other racing organizations, we hope to educate the racing community on how to improve racecar safety regardless of the amount of money you have to race on.

I am asking for your financial support to help with this effort by making a tax deductable donation to the “Safer Racer Tour, Inc.” at whatever level you can.   I am trying to raise $250,000 annually to put a crew on the road to travel around the country to work with the regional and “grass-roots” racing community.  However,I cannot do it without the financial support of others willing to support this cause.

If you have any suggestions or questions, please do not hesitate to CONTACT me.  I am confident, with support of fellow racers such as yourself, we can make racing safer for all participants regardless of one’s racing budget.  Thank you for your time and consideration!
